Dabaiba and AFRICOM commander discuss military training and cooperation

On 1 December, PM and Minister of Defense Abdul Hameed Dabaiba met with the commander of the US Military Command in Africa (AFRICOM) Dagvin Anderson and his delegation to discuss strengthening military cooperation between Libya and the United States, focusing on training, readiness and capacity development programmes. The meeting was attended by Deputy MoD Abdussalam Zoubi, the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army Mohammed al-Haddad, the Deputy CoS Salahadeen al-Namroush, and the Military Intelligence Director Mahmoud Hamza. The US embassy said they reviewed ongoing security cooperation, including AFRICOM’s Flintlock 26 exercise, as well as Libyan-led efforts to unify the country’s military institutions.
