On 3 April, Libyan National Army (LNA) commander, Shuaib Boumediene, was shot and killed by unidentified assailants in Benghazi. Local reports suggest that his killing was a targeted assassination, and an individual has been arrested. However, GNU Deputy Minister of Interior, Faraj Qaim, was quoted saying that Boumediene’s murder was not an assignation but a ‘security operation par excellence’.
