On 5 January, an unidentified armed group thought to be from Zawiyya raided the Akakus Oil Operations Company Headquarters in Tripoli and temporarily assumed control over the building. Unconfirmed reports allege the armed group who raided the building is linked with recently appointed Akakus chairman of the board of management, Osama Allotey.
