On 1 June, the Southern Liberation Operations Room (SLOR), a group led by Tebu leader Mohamed Wardukuwhich has launched a campaign to drive the Libyan National Army (LNA) out of the southern region, said it has detected the movement of several fuel tankers in the vicinity of the Majdoul Gate, in the south of the country. It said these tankers are heading towards Chad and from there to Sudan, in coordination with the Joint Operations Room – a joint LNA-Chadian operations room. The SLOR said this is part of organized smuggling networks that are draining the resources of the Libyan state and exacerbating the fuel shortage crisis, especially in the southern regions, which are already suffering from inadequate supplies. The Operations Room confirmed that these operations are being carried out under the supervision of armed groups affiliated with the LNA.
