On 20 April, EU Ambassador Nicola Orlando met with Deputy Minister of Defense Abdussalam Al Zoubi in Tripoli, congratulating him on the successful Flintlock 2026 exercise and on the important steps taken to enhance coordination of national efforts, particularly in strengthening land border control. He reiterated the EU’s readiness to support these priorities and discussed current and future avenues for cooperation in light of evolving regional and global dynamics, including within the framework of Operation EUNAVFOR Med IRINI and its support to Libya’s maritime institutions.
