On 3 June, ISIS is suspected of undertaking an attack on the al-Fuqaha gate. This follows reports of a group of armed men establishing a fake checkpoint near the location. Both incidents remain unverified.
On 4 June, ISIS is suspected of being involved in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack targeting a police station in Derna. No deaths have been reported.
On 8 June, al-Bunyan al-Marsous spokesperson, Mohammed al-Ghusri, stated that ISIS sleeper cells were observed in the Garabulli district east of Tripoli.
On 9 June, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian suggested that ISIS was resurgent in Libya’s Fezzan region. Le Drian’s statement came as he reiterated calls for a cease-fire in Tripoli.
On 10 June, the Sirte “Counter-Terrorism Force” arrested a suspected ISIS member in the Shabia area of Sirte. The same force is reported to have arrested a senior ISIS member in the Bougrin region south of Misrata.
