On 23 May, a two-day workshop began on ‘International Ways to Support the Disarmament, Disarmament and Reintegration (DDR) Programme for Libya and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya’ in Toledo, Spain. The workshop was attended by the Government of National Unity (GNU) Chief of General Staff Mohammed Haddad, Deputy Head of the Presidential Council (PC) Abdullah al-Lafi (representing the PC’s role as Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army), GNU Minister of the Interior Khaled Mazen, GNU Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation Ali al-Abed, EU Ambassador to Libya Jose Sabadell, and the UN Special Advisor to the Secretary-General (SASG) Stephanie Williams. Some members of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) were also in attendance.
