On 18 October, the U.S. Embassy warned all US citizens in Libya of further demonstrations in Libya over the Gaza conflict. They stated, ‘We anticipate that additional protests may occur, sometimes without prior announcement. The U.S. Embassy strongly encourages U.S. citizens to maintain a high level of vigilance and practice good situational awareness near protests and demonstrations.’ However, the U.S. Embassy stated that they ‘are not aware of specific, credible threats against U.S. citizens in Libya at this time’.
