The US Charge d’Affaires Jeremy Berndt and the US Defence Attache also with the Chief of Staff (CoS) of the Libyan Army Muhammed al-Haddad and alongside Deputy CoS Salahadeen Namroush, Chief of Staff of the Air Force Major General Goujail, and Director of Military Intelligence Brigadier General Hamza. The US said it is ‘committed to increasing security cooperation with professional military officers in all parts of Libya to support military unification and help Libyans safeguard their sovereignty’. They discussed opportunities to expand professional military education programs for officers from throughout Libya, cooperate on capability development, and strengthen information-sharing to continue to make tangible progress on the U.S.-Libya security partnership. Berdnt also met with GNU Minister of Interior Emad Trabelsi.
