On 3 May, the US Defence Attaché Mark Imblum led a US delegation to meet with a delegation of Libyan military leaders in Tripoli led by the Chief of Staff of the GNU’s Land Forces, al-Fitouri Grebeel. The US said the meeting underscored a ‘shared commitment to promote stability and regional security and commended the efforts of Libyan military leaders ‘toward building a unified military capable of protecting the Libyan people and defending the country’s sovereignty.’ The Libyan delegation said that discussions had focused on ‘enhancing relations between the Libyan and American armies.
