On 19 September, a Sudan Liberation Movement-affiliated armed group attacked Zillah’s police station, located in southwest Libya. The attack was reportedly conducted by gunmen with ten armed cars who, after storming the station, forced the release of one of their members who had been imprisoned for molesting a girl. Sources say the mercenaries remain in Zillah under protection of General Khalifa Haftar’s militias.
