On 13 April, Ansar al-Sharia (AAS) published pictures of their forces firing at a Libyan National Army (LNA) helicopter over Benghazi. Previously on 10 April, AAS had also published photos of the advanced US EO-5C reconnaissance aircraft flying over Benghazi. On 11 April, the AAS media unit, Al Rayah, released a new video urging Libyans and other Muslims to wage jihad in Libya, and disavowing the concept of the Libyan state.
An LNA source told the Libya Herald that militant artillery strikes in Benghazi struck had an LNA ammunition cache in the city’s central district of Juliana on 13 April. The artillery attacks follow a series of Libyan Air Force strikes on vessels delivering arms and ammunition to the militants. During the last week, six boats thought to have originated in Misrata, have been targeted. Two were struck on 13 April near Gemenis as they sailed towards Khashem Al-Kabesh, while another was reportedly attacked northwest of Benghazi.
