On 21 November, the National Oil Corporation (NOC) issued a statement insisting that rumours that there were clashes at the NOC HQ were unfounded. The statement declared that the HQ was safe and warned against fabrications posted on the internet.The Ministry of Oil and Gas issued a similar statement, insiting rumours of an armed attack were false and that neither the Ministry nor its staff noticed anything ‘unusual’ and that the guards were fulfilling their duties competently. The MOOG’s temporary office is within the NOC’s HQ.
