Militias vie for control of External Security Agency building in Tripoli

On 1 June, clashes broke out between forces aligned with Ayoub Abu Ras, including members of the Tripoli Revolutionaries Brigade (TRB) and the Presidential Guard, and those aligned with Osama Najim, including members of the Judicial Guard under control of the Special Deterrence Force (Rada). The clashes were reportedly over control of the External Security Agency headquarters. Flights were reportedly suspended at Mitiga International Airport for two hours due to the deterioration in security conditions. Local media reported that five members of the Judicial Guard were killed in the clashes. The GNU Ministry of Justice reported that no injuries had been recorded.
