On 18 August, Presidential Council head Muhammed al-Menfi held a meeting at the 111 th Brigade HQ in Tripoli with the Chiefs of Staff, the Commanders of the Military Regions, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Abdussalam al-Zoubi, the heads of agencies and departments, officers and non-commissioned officers, ostensibly to mark the 84 th anniversary of the founding of the Libyan Army. Menfi said this was the first meeting at such a high level, stressing the need to unify the military institutions and establish a strong and cohesive army.
