On 20 April, the spokesman for the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Ahmed al-Mismari, denied accusations that the LNA was supporting either side of the conflict in Sudan, dismissing the media reports as ‘cheap and corrupt’. He stated that the LNA was in contact with the parties of the conflict and willing to mediate between them ‘to stop the fighting immediately and open the way for peaceful dialogue’.
