On 29 May, the Libyan National Army’s (LNA) Southern Operations Room announced that it had launched a military campaign, ‘Operation One Day’, targeting ISIS operatives in southern Libya. According to the LNA, the operation successfully destroyed a number of ISIS vehicles and captured an ISIS leader. The operation is ongoing and involves both land and air reconnaissance missions. The Tebu Sheikh, Zalawi Mina Saleh, declared that he refused to support the LNA deployments unless the fighters were drawn from the Tebu tribe.
