On 6 June, Sudanese media outlets reported that there were clashes between the Libyan National Army (LNA) aligned Suboul al-Salam Battalion and Sudanese armed forces in the Jabal al-Uwaynat area on the Sudan-Libya border. These clashes resulted in deaths and capturing of prisoners. Libyan forces had allegedly penetrated more than three kilometres into Sudanese territory near Jabal al-Uwaynat, prompting the Sudanese force to intervene immediately and repel the incursion.
