Libyan-Italian Joint Committee concludes meetings in Tripoli

On 11 June, the Chief of the Staff of the Libyan Army said that the Libyan-Italian Joint Committee concluded its meetings in Tripoli after two days of technical discussions focused on strengthening military cooperation between the Government of National Unity (GNU) Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Libyan Army, and the Italian side. This cooperation aims to support efforts to develop the military institution and enhance its readiness. The meetings included a review of training programs and maintenance and rehabilitation projects implemented during 2025. The meetings resulted in an agreement to implement several joint training and qualification programs both inside and outside Libya. These programs will contribute to developing military personnel and enhancing technical and specialized capabilities.
