On 23 April, Libyan National Army (LNA) Commander Khalifa Haftar received a high-level delegation from the Italian Government in al-Rajma, including the Italian Minister of Interior Matteo Piantedosi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Edmondo Cirielli, and the Italian Ambassador to Libya Gianluca Alberini. According to the LNA, they discussed the latest updates on the local and regional arena, as well as ‘exploring ways to enhance joint cooperation between Libya and Italy in security and economic spheres, which serves common interests and boosts security and stability in the region.’
On 28 April, PM Abdul Hameed Dabaiba had a call with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, discussing mutual cooperation – in particular related to energy – as well as regional and international developments.
