On 2 May, a bomb was discovered in Zawiyya in the immediate vicinity of the Sabiriya Police Station. The professionally-made Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was a 6 kg anti-tank mine with a device for remote detonation using a cell phone, which was attached to the anti-tank mine with adhesive tape. It is not clear whether it was actually armed. The bomb was defused by the Explosives Dismantling Office of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Western Branch, transported away and detonated in a safe place.
