Heavy rains hit Tripoli overnight 12 – 13 October, resulting in flooding in many parts of Tripoli.

On 13 October, the Government of National Unity (GNU) formed an emergency committee to monitor the flooding and directed the relevant authorities to raise their readiness status and begin immediate intervention to address the situation, including managing traffic, pumping rainwater and clearing drains across the city. Many cars were submerged and properties flooded, with many areas and roads completely impassable. There have also been power cuts in parts of the city. Souq al-Jumaa has been particularly badly impacted.

Benghazi has raised its emergency levels in anticipation of the heavy rain reaching it in the coming hours.
