On 23 June, Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that the Hellenic Navy will deploy two frigates and a patrol boat off Libya’s territorial waters to deter migrants from arriving at the islands of Gavdos and Crete. Since 19 June, 731 migrants, mostly from Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, and Pakistan, have landed on Greece’s southern islands in several groups. Most of these migrants departed from Tubruq.
