On 24 September, the Chairman of the Government of National Unity’s (GNU) Land and Sea Borders Committee, Muhammad Al-Harari, signed the African Union (AU) Convention on Cross-Border Cooperation, known as the Niamey Convention, at the AU headquarters in Ethiopia as part of efforts to strengthen Libya’s engagement with AU institutions. The Libyan delegation also held talks with the AU Border Programme on cooperation with Libyan authorities responsible for border management.
