Over the course of the last few weeks, the EU’s Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM) has launched a number of initiatives. On 12 February, EUBAM announced that in cooperation with the Netherlands, it organised a basic level training on document security for twelve senior officers from Ras Ajdir and Wazen land border crossing points, and Mitiga air border crossing point. On 20 February, representatives from EUBAM delivered the second batch of medical equipment to the Interior Ministry’s Specialized Training Institute. Separately, on 21 February, Italian Interior Minister Piantedosi met with the Government of National Unity (GNU) Interior Minister Emad Trabelsi to discuss the Italy-Libya task force on security and immigration.
