ECOWAS team reviews migrant conditions in Libya

On 25 June, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Humanitarian Assessment Mission announced the conclusion of its mission in Libya, which took place from 8 to 13 June. The mission was dedicated to monitoring the situation of migrants holding the nationality of the group’s member states. During the mission, the ECOWAS team held consultations with relevant Libyan authorities, the IOM mission in Libya, some ECOWAS and other African Diplomatic Missions in Libya, Organised African Migrant Community Leaders, as well as detained migrants during a field visit to the Tajoura Detention Centre in Tripoli.
