On 11 January, the case about the collapse of the Derna dams was referred to the Court of Appeal by the judge of the indictment chamber of the Derna Court of First Instance. The court ruled that the imprisonment of 14 out of the 16 defendants should continue – two are being tried in absentia, as they are outside of Libya.
