On 26 June, the British Embassy in Libya denied reports that its convoy was targeted in a robbery in Tripoli, clarifying that although gunfire occurred, it wasn’t an attempted hijacking. The incident took place in Gurji around 6:30 a.m. when embassy vehicles returning from Mitiga Airport were rammed by a Land Cruiser. Gunmen opened fire, damaging two vehicles, but no one was harmed. The embassy condemned the attack, urged the GNU to investigate, and reaffirmed its diplomatic presence despite rising concerns over armed groups and political unrest in Tripoli.
