US Charge d’Affaires Jeremy Berndt discussed security cooperation and ‘how the United States can best support Libyan efforts to unify and professionalize military institutions’ in meetings with Chief of Staff of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Security Units Khaled Haftar in Benghazi and with Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Adel Jumaa and Deputy Defense Minister Abdussalam Zubi in Tripoli.
Also in his meeting with Khaled Haftar, Berndt discussed US worries about the Russian presence in Libya.
