On 19 August, the Government of National Stability (GNS) Prime Minister, Fathi Bashaagha, gave a speech to elders in Misrata strongly implying that he will seek to make a move on Tripoli with assistance from armed groups. Bashaagha warned that in the event of clashes, pro-Government of National Unity (GNU) Prime Minister, Abdul Hameed Dabaiba, forces would die as ‘criminals’ rather than ‘martyrs’ for they have obstructed the will of the Libyan people.
