On the evening of 9 February, unidentified assailants fired upon Dabaiba and his convoy as he travelled along the Souq al-Jumaa Highway in what has been described as a failed assassination attempt by those familiar with the incident. Informed reports suggest there were no major injuries, with the security support vehicles sustaining gunfire damage. It is worth noting that local sources report Dabaiba’s personal security and his office have remained stable since the HoR announced their selection of Bashaagha as Prime Minister designate.
