On 8 February, the Government of National Accord’s (GNA’s) Internal Security Agency arrested members of a ‘criminal terrorist organisation’ responsible for the bombing of the Janzour Naval Academy on 19 January 2021. Reports indicate that two suspects have been arrested. It is unclear at this stage whether ISIS or any other jihadist group are involved. The 19 January bombings occurred in the special munitions warehouse of the Naval Academy in Janzour in western Tripoli, killing three and wounding several. The dead included the commander of the Naval Academy and the Commander of the Naval College.
