Armed Clashes in Ajilat Cause Casualties

On 27 April, early in the morning, armed clashes broke out in the Al-Zaramqa area of Ajilat in western Libya between an armed group linked to Muhammed Bahroun aka al-Far on one side and an armed group linked to ‘Al-Shalfouh’ (real name Muhammad Mustafa Al-Zaytouni) on the other. Mortar artillery was reportedly used indiscriminately in the clashes, resulting in damage to a number of citizens’ homes and the burning of cars on the city’s roads.

Medical sources confirmed the death of a young man named Ahmed Mahmoud Makhlouf and the injury of others, including a young man named Wanees Al-Ashi. This was as a result of indiscriminate shooting in the vicinity of Al-Wahda Bank. Local authorities declared a state of emergency and schools in the area were closed as a precaution.
