In an interview on 28 November, Prime Minister of the GNA Fayez Serraj said that the Presidential Council (PC) will not submit a new Cabinet line-up to the House of Representatives (HoR). The HoR had demanded the PC submit a new list following its rejection of Serraj’s original government line-up in September. Serraj said that the PC will wait for the HoR’s endorsement of the LPA before making any changes.
In Tripoli, following the rapid devaluation of the Libyan Dinar last week, local militias closed the city’s informal currency exchanges, effectively restricting any movement of currency. The prices of goods and services are set to soar even higher against this backdrop and a civil disobedience campaign in Tripoli in protest against the continuing liquidity and price crisis.
