French Ambassador to Libya Mostafa Mihraje spent several days in the East, leading a delegation of around 10 French companies to Benghazi and Derna on 3 and 4 June, led by MEDEF International. They were there to seek reconstruction contracts, meeting with Belqassim Haftar and discussing how they could meet the needs expressed by him and the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund. Mihraje then met with Libyan National Army (LNA) commander Khalifa Haftar on 6 June and House of Representatives (HoR) speaker Aqeela Saleh on 9 June, discussing the political impasse and how to overcome it, as well as the security challenges in Libya and the Sahel, and the presence of foreign fighters in the country. Saleh reiterated the need for a unified government to oversee elections, and said Mihraje extended an invite to Saleh to visit France.
