On 11 June, the Chief of the Staff of the Libyan Army, Salahadeen al-Namroush hosted Vallat and a French military delegation at the Tripoli Naval Base to explore technical advancements in maritime defence. The strategic visit, which coincided with the arrival of French naval vessel Pluton, focused on launching structured joint naval training exercises and establishing modernisation programs for the Libyan naval fleet to bolster maritime border security.
Vallat also met with Deputy Minister of Defence Abdussalam Zoubi, discussing way to strengthen military cooperation between Libya and France.
Vallat then travelled to Benghazi met with Libyan National Army (LNA) Chief of Staff Khaled Haftar to discuss the same topic. Vallat also met with House of Representatives (HoR) Speaker Aqeela Saleh, exploring ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to discussing the latest developments in Libya.
