On 19 February, members of an armed group led by Mohammed Bahroun (also known as ‘al-Far’, the ‘Mouse’) closed the coastal road between Zawiyya and Tripoli, erecting earth mounds and blocking pedestrian and vehicle access. The closure of the road was in protest at the arrest of Rabee Halila, who had reportedly been detained by the Special Deterrence Force (Rada). In a statement, the protestors declared that the road would remain close until Halila is released. Reports suggested that the road was reopened on the evening of 21 February.
