On 3 October, Government of National Unity (GNU) PM Abdul Hameed Dabaiba said he joined the notables, elders, and residents of Misrata in welcoming a delegation of elders, notables, and leaders from Zawiyya for the “Fellow Citizens’ Forum,” an event focused on supporting national reconciliation, fostering a spirit of brotherhood between the people of both cities, and backing the Government of National Unity.
Dabaiba affirmed the government’s support for Zawiyya and its residents, praising the city’s contributions to the nation and highlighting that the people of Zawiyya are a fundamental pillar in state-building and the preservation of national unity. The notables and elders of Misrata and Zawiyya also emphasized the importance of maintaining communication and fostering a spirit of brotherhood between the two cities, supporting efforts for reconciliation and stability, and uniting the national front to help overcome division and lead the country toward elections.
