On 7 August, the South Liberation Operations Room (SLOR) attacked the LNA’s 676th unit desert post near al-Toum border crossing with Chad and arrested four LNA soldiers, all of whom were from the Fezzan. The SLOR claimed it took control of the post. In a statement after the attack, it reiterated warnings to Fezzani communities not to support the LNA, warning that future SLOR operations would target command centres and militia bases, not just desert posts.
On 9 August, the SLOR released a recent picture of Ibrahim Warduko, the brother of the SLOR commander Mohamed Warduko who it says was arrested in March, and one of his nephews, Jamal Hashim Warduko, a Tripoli university student arrested at a checkpoint in al-Shuwairef a month ago. The SLOR warned that this is the type of abuse and intimidation the LNA engages in.
