On 7 July, the Office of the Attorney General said that the Zawiyya Criminal Court had issued a death sentence against the perpetrator of a premeditated murder, identified only as M.S.S. In 2021, the victim, Amad, was found murdered in a car after being stabbed nine times. In its final session, the court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to death as retribution.
On 9 July, the Office of the Attorney General said that the Zawiyya Criminal Court had issued a separate verdict convicting the perpetrators of the murder of a citizen Jamal Al-Mabrouk Al-Harari. The Attorney General’s Office brought public charges against four defendants accused of murdering the victim. In its final session, the court convicted the first defendant, sentencing him to death as retribution for the murder. Moreover, it sentenced the first, second, and third defendants to three years in prison for possession of unlicensed weapons. The court acquitted the fourth defendant of all the charges against him.
