On 24 May, 10 members of the Global Sumud land convoy crossed into the 5+5 security zone around Sirte to negotiate safe passage for the humanitarian convoy aiming to take supplies to Gaza overland. They did not return. The organisation said on 25 May that they had been detained by the Libyan National Army (LNA). Those detained are civilians from Spain, Poland, the USA, Argentina, Uruguay, Portugal, Tunisia, and Italy. The Global Sumud camp was reportedly cleared by the LNA and participants deported.
