On 7 May, the Libyan National Army (LNA) General Staff directed the military police in Sebha to ban civilian off-road vehicles in the South. The directive orders the expropriation of off-road vehicles for the military police and prisons authority. Local sources report the expropriation of the civilian vehicles is underway in Sebha and Qatroun.

The spokesperson of the South Liberation Operations Room (SLOR), Bashir al-Sheikh described the decision as reflection of the ‘colonial behaviour’ of the eastern Libya authorities towards the South.
