On 14 April, Government of National Unity (GNU) Minister of Interior Emad Trabelsi met with his Italian counterpart Matteo Piantedosi in Rome in the framework of promoting mutual security cooperation between the two countries. The two sides addressed the situation of Libyan citizens detained in Italian prisons, exploring ways to address their legal and humanitarian circumstances. They emphasized the importance of coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries to guarantee their rights and expedite related procedures, in accordance with applicable legal frameworks.
