On 11 April, there was an assassination attempt against Major General Ibrahim Al-Shaqaf near the Marriott Hotel on Al-Shatt Road, Tripoli. A clash occurred between his escorts and the cars that attempted to assassinate him, resulting in material damage. Al-Shaqaf reportedly escaped the attack without injuries. He is a candidate for deputy head of the Libyan Intelligence Service.
