On 9 April, the Libyan National Army (LNA) issued a sharp warning against any attempt to revive the South Liberation Operations Room (SLOR), an armed group it has previously battled in the country’s South. A military source in the East said security agencies have detected signs of renewed activity, though claimed the group, reportedly led by Mohamed Warduko, has been ‘largely dismantled’ after suffering ‘heavy losses’ in clashes earlier this year. According to the source, its remaining fighters retreated deep into the desert, stripped of most weapons and equipment, and remain under close surveillance. The LNA stressed that it is fully prepared to confront any renewed mobilization, vowing an immediate military response to efforts to reorganize or launch hostile actions.

On 11 April, the War Media Division of the LNA General Command said that the 101st Infantry Brigade, based at Sebha, is finalizing necessary preparations and arrangements for an upcoming operation.
