On 9 March, the Regional Security Directorate Support Agency, a security unit of the Government of National Unity (GNU) Interior Ministry, announced the discovery of a new mass grave in the Abu Salim neighbourhood of Tripoli, containing the bodies of two people reportedly killed and buried in recent years by individuals affiliated with the now-defunct Stability Support Agency (SSA). The bodies were found in a deep grave in the Al Hadba project area, considered one of the militia’s strongholds.
On 17 March, the bodies were identified as belonging to two young men, Mahmoud Al-Taher (born 1993) and Abdulati Al-Qabli (born 1998), both residents of Abu Salim. The agency said the two victims disappeared on 25 April 2023, following a dispute with a former member of the SSA Saif al-Kikli.
