On 18 January, Libyan National Army (LNA) Commander Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar received the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces Major General Yousef al‑Hunaiti and his high‑level Jordanian military delegation at the General Command headquarters.
Al-Hunaiti was welcomed at the airport by Saddam Haftar. Khalifa Haftar conveyed his greetings to King Abdullah II and praised Jordan’s constructive role in supporting regional stability, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation to advance shared security interests.
The visit formed part of ongoing coordination between the Libyan Armed Forces and Jordan, reflecting the depth of their longstanding military and fraternal ties. The subsequent bilateral meetings were chaired on the Libyan side by Saddam and Khaled Haftar. During the talks, both sides explored ways to strengthen their strategic partnership, with a particular focus on military training, technical expertise exchange, and enhancing the combat readiness of the LNA. The discussions also highlighted Libya’s interest in benefiting from Jordan’s advanced experience in institutional capacity‑building.
