There are reports of a new supply route to the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, emerging from Libya, crossing Chad, and reaching Sudan. Satellite imagery appears to show that Waw airport, near the Chadian border in the Murzuq region of south-western Libya, has been upgraded in recent weeks.
In mid-October, Saddam Haftar visited al-Waw Airport as part of his tour around southern Libya, with videos of the visit showing the presence of helicopters and dozens of vehicles. Other reports indicate that Waw airport houses forces from the Chadian armed opposition, represented by the Military Council for the Salvation of the Republic (CCMSR), and that it has approximately 2,000 trained and equipped fighters stationed there.
