According to reports, Déby assured Saddam that the Chadian government had restored control over the situation in the region, confirming that Chadian forces have secured border areas. Saddam, for his part, reportedly expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Chadian military, and stressed the importance of continued cooperation to safeguard their shared border.
