LNA Deputy Commander Saddam Haftar discusses military cooperation in another Ankara visit

On 20 November, Libyan National Army (LNA) Deputy Commander Saddam Haftar met in Ankara with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, reviewing developments in the region, and exploring prospects for bilateral cooperation in the interests of both sides.

Thereafter, Saddam Haftar was received by the Turkish Minister of Defense Yaşar Güler at the MoD. They exchange views on the latest international developments with a particular focus on Mediterranean security and discussed ways to enhance joint military cooperation between the two sides in the areas of border control, counterterrorism, and combating smuggling. Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining channels of communication between the two military institutions, thereby contributing to stability and security in the region.

On 21 November, the LNA Deputy Commander met the new Turkish Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu. They discussed concrete ways to strengthen military cooperation between the two sides and developed joint working mechanisms in line with the requirements of the current level of cooperation.
